What shampoo should i use on my bay horse to make him shine?

I have a 13yr old QH that i got from our family friends. He was originally a pasture horse but we are going to keep him in a stall. He cleans up very nicely. He is very good about grooming so any suggestions would be nice. Also some suggestions on spray on shiners would be great!! I am willing to try anything. What shampoo should i use on my bay horse to make him shine?
sauve, yea i no its cheapa nd its human but i use it on my horse and i have gotten soooo many compliments on him because he's soo shiny. if u put the shampoo in a bucket then put water in the bucket. then put the shampoo water with a body brush and just scrub in circle movments. as ur horse dries brush him/her down with a VERY soft brush, the softest u can find, as u go ovr with the soft brosh, spray continulus show sheen. thats how i do it. and at state i had stragers coming up to me and telling me m horse was one of teh best looking horses the have ever seen!!!What shampoo should i use on my bay horse to make him shine?
We feed Natural Glow, it is a stabilized rice bran, and it makes a huge difference in the horse's coat. When you wash your horse, try buying some Dawn dish washing liquid, pour out the first inch and fill it with mineral oil, shake well, and wash. It works great, and we use it on our horses, goats, and dogs.
I professionally showed horses for 20 years in halter classes. After bathing them in a mild shampoo (usually baby shampoo) I would put a cooler or light sheet on them until they were completely dry. Then I would take a cordless drill and put the brush attachment on it. (The brush is a round brush like we use but a lot bigger) My horses loved it..guess it was like a massage or something. The circulation of the brush would pull any dander off and the natural oils would work back into the coat. After I was finished (40min - 1hr) their coat shinned like it was wet and was smooth as velvet. This helps too when they are shedding out. You also have to use the reverse button when polishing the right side of the horse because the brush will be turning in the opposite direction and the hair will stand up instead of laying down.

Only thing...be careful around the mane and tail you don't want to wrap any hairs around the brush. It pulls and they might freak out.

It must have worked pretty good.... we won numerous awards in the Quarter Horse, Paint Horse and Palomino Horse Associations.
If ';Tail %26amp; Mane'; is used by adults, it should be good for your horse. I've seen it sold at drugstoes %26amp; Wal*Mart. As for spray on shiners, ask other horse owners before you use anything.
tail and mane shampoo is really good for the intire coat
For grooming, I love the results I get from Vetrolin Shine products (both shampoo and spray).

If you aren't going to ride for a couple days, you could also give the horse a baby oil bath. Very shiny, but caution...your horse will be slick for a couple days.

For a feeding option, try giving your horse about 2 oz. of corn oil in his food every day.
I love Orvus shampoo, it adds natural oils to the coat, it is wonderful...
use Quic Color... its most affective on bays %26amp; other colors...

to add to the shine of the shampoo, you can also use a dandy brush...
