What kind of shampoo do I need to use on a black lab puppy to get her fur to shine?

It's not usually a question of what shampoo...but diet.

You want to feed her food that's going to promote a healthy coat and skin. Feed her the highest quality food you can afford...One that does NOT contain wheat, corn or soy. Those three things aren't good for your dog's coat or skin. Add an Omega 3 fatty acid (like a fish oil supplement) to her food.

Within 2 weeks you will notice that her fur is softer and shinier.

When you do bath her you want to make sure the shampoo isn't too harsh, and you don't want to bath too often. Over bathing isn't healthy for the coat or skin.

You also want to brush a short haired dog at least every couple days to help get rid of any dirt and loose fur...and to use the natural oils that skin produces to coat the fur.What kind of shampoo do I need to use on a black lab puppy to get her fur to shine?
BioGroom has an excellent line of shampoos and conditioners for dogs and cats. I've tried all different brands and this is the best. They have an Ultra Black shampoo for dogs. However, I would just use the Puppy shampoo because it is more mild for your pup. I think, that it is available at Petco or Petsmart, but I'm not sure because I hate going there so I never do except for a once in a blue moon.

The key to shiny coat is not really bathing them, it's their food. They need a very high quality food. Like Innova, or Canidae.

shampoo won't decide if the coat is shiny, just good food will do that, feed a low to no grain kibble, check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com for more info on foods, keep bathing to a minimum, dilute whatever shampoo you use, I like baby shampoo, and use cool water for best results.

good luck and have fun with your pup
no matter what shampoo you use make sure you don't wash her too often.. maybe once a month is good. Labs have a special oily coat that will get damaged if you wash them too much.

and make sure you feed her a good quality food
Lots of brushing and good nutrition is going to really get your dog to have a shiny coat. For shampoo, you should use an oatmeal, soap free version to moisterize the lab's often dry skin and to not wash off flea preventative medication.
I have been told if you put a little veg oil in there food it's good for their coat, otherwise I have always loved Oatmeal Shampoo it really good! Also ask a groomer what they suggest. Good Luck!
I like liquid shampoos, not bar soap ones. They have many varieties at the store to choose from. Look for the one that says ';shiny coat';
I have a black lab/collie cross and i use bob martins mild shampoo and it smells good and leaves her coat nice and shiny
I have heard that
